Nique le show business! The 2006 GTI Journey To The East Lyrics by Tony Cacace, Jennifer De Guzman, Adam Loero Performed by Tony Cacace, John Laporga, Adam Loero ---------------------------- Here's a little story I've got to tell About 26 students you know so well It started way back in history With Dean Wei, Shirley Lin, and Dr. JT It was four years ago, Dean Wei had an idear, To send her students overseas, and kick them into gear, in a foreign land with a guiding hand they would grow to be responsible, and an SJSU fan. One single person she be, But not alone in this valley. She called her old friends Those with Benjamins. Money was the issue and to this they gave her ends. Looking for a name, One to get her by, She asked herself one question How' bout GTI? Sooooo next there were the logistics; to set the whole trip up Two weeks spent in Asia was enough to get her stuck. In came Shirley Lin, rising to the test Her sprits were high, her skill were sharp, she had to be the best. Quick on the phone and fast on the keys, Lin had the businesses beg on their knees, "Oh please send your students" is what they would say "To make it worth your while, we'll even pay their way" That was that, the trip was set, except for one small thing who would guide the students as they traveled through Beijing Only one man was good enough for the job. His name, Dr. Tsao, not Dr. Bob! As the story goes the man became a hero, But he needed twenty-six, none of them a zero. We all sent in our stuff, we all said, "Choose me!" And here we are today making history. But now I'm getting ahead, ahead of my story. We had a lot of work before we got the glory. Goin' to China, Now I don't want to brag, and I don't want to boast But Hitchin' a ride were Barez and the Provost! We were in the company of San Jose elite. If you want to know the time, Barez has got the beat! First stop on the trip, a rainy place to pave the way Fourteen hours on a plane, and we were in Taipei! We saw where they made the nuclear power, Stuffed ourselves with dumplings, stayed out at all hours. "Nee how" is what was said in place of hello, "Shir Shir" meaning thank you, and "Boo" meaning no. We couldn't stay long The tour it was raging, And what could be wrong With going to Beijing? We met the Prez at Google, we climbed the Great Wall Scholars in the City--we were right on the ball. On the street the boys chomped scorpion and snake Then on to our next stop, a place famous for a lake. In Honzow we were chillin', the girls all drank tea... We learned what was what at a conductor company. Cruisin' through the temple, listening to the monks, Yeah, we were full of culture, not uneducated punks! From hangzhou, to shanghai, In an airplane we did fly We stood on the corner, said to the girls, Ni How Ka "I". Shanghai is a city with a river called Huangpu. We were out on the streets; we had so much to do. Haggle with the vendors who call "Hey Lady!" Watch out for the women who offer you "Massage-y!" There is a new China being built in Pudong. Chairman Mao is gone and they're building it strong. It's the land of the future, land of bright light. We shopped in the day and went out all night. Not all good things gotta come to an end-- GTI will live forever, as long as we stay friends. One more thing remains for us to do-- That's why we're here tonight: to say "Thank you!" http://www.myspace.com/ginohiphop He's known as the guy who changed the game with one video. A business man and CEO of Mo'BB Records, Gino was born and raised in Lagos. U could mistake him for your average rapper cos of his sultry flow....till he proves u wrong. The quintessential Gino is usually laid back rap n witty lines, sometimes gangsta, sometimes coming up with songs that touch your soul. He is also an accomplished singer/songwriter/ghostwriter. His style of music is a blend of Rap, R&B, Reggae and African. He loves to experiment. The video for his first single "No be God?" was shot in 2005 and was acclaimed the best thing to happen to the Nigerian music Industry went it was aired and gathered a lot of attention from all around because of its story line and depiction of street life. Gino was noticed and featured on Jay-Z's diary on MTVbase and his music video was played to show that rap in the U.S wasnt much different from what he saw on his trip to Nigeria. In recording his album, Gino put together most of his experiences on the mean streets of Lagos and Benin, his relationship with God, Women, Money from songs he had written over the years. The album featured unknown artistes from his Mobb Camp he says are the future like Sossick, Shank, Dark Poet, Studd and Wurdplay. Others are Ghetto P (Q Beats) and M.Speech (Kilari Ent). The album also features a now famous skit from Sir Jeffrey's. The entire album was produced by Sossick except "Playa's way 2006" and "No be God?" Remix which were produced by T-Frizzle of H20. Pain plus Work, his first album was released into the market in January 2007 and has been gaining momentum since then. He has been nominated for various awards and picked up a few already including two @ the Amen awards for Best Rap Song and in the video category. He recently released his new single Farabale which has been tipped to be the next hit and the fans are anxiously awaiting the release of the video. The story continues in 2008 as he is presently in the studio recording a new album for 2008. Other artises on the label are due out in 2008 and all seems set for the invasion. Details coming soon. Songs: 10. In The Air Tonight - Nonpoint 9. Numb/Encore - Linkin Park & Jay-Z 8. Sky Is The Limit - Lil' Wayne 7. Down With The Sickness - Disturbed 6. Throw It Up - Lil' Jon 5. Here Comes The Boom - Nelly 4. Lose Yourself - Eminem 3. It's A Fight - Three 6 Mafia 2. Can't Be Touched - Roy Jones Jr. 1. Till' I Collapse - Eminem First off let me start by saying this is my list of songs that pump me up before games and before working out. I do want to hear your opinions on songs, and if you have a very good song I'm missing I will put it in the video. Think of this as a rough draft and I will revise it as neccesary. As you can see I am a big fan of Hip-Hop and Rap music. I do not enjoy metal or punk/emo music so please don't get all pissed off if that is the genre you listen too. I have looked and there are multiple videos with that genre in pump up music. This video was made for those who enjoy hip-hop. Again any suggestions you have will be appreciated and I will revise this video in the future. For now this is why I picked the songs I did. In The Air Tonight - A great rock song with a good message. Played in commercial for 2004 MLB playoffs and got me pumped. Numb/Encore - One of the best collabirations between a rock legend and rap legend enough said. Great beat with meaninful lyrics too. Sky Is The Limit - The title says it all. I might get some heat for this one because it is not well known. Weezy drops ridiculous lyrics with great beat. Down With The Sickness - Best rock song ever. Probably one of the best beats ever. Some say this could aguably be #1. Throw It Up - Great song that gets you motivated. It makes you want to punch someone in the face. That is my definition of a pump up song. Here Comes The Boom - Nelly drops a great track. Great for football players before a game because of the related theme. Note: From Longest Yard Lose Yourself - Arguably number 1. Can get even rap haters pumped up because of its deep, deep meaning. That's what a true pump up song is. It's A Fight - This was an interesting one. It's about boxing so obviously it pumps you up. It has a great beat too. Could be moved down maybe? 7-10 range? You tell me. Can't Be Touched - Probably should go down as the best pump up song in history. I would have to say this is a tie with # 1. Ultimate song. Till' I Collapse - My FAVORITE song ever. It's about never giving up and about not stoping "till you collapse." Honarable Mentions: Headstrong - Trapt Remember The Name - Fort Minor 3 Peat - Lil' Wayne Push It - Rick Ross Let's Go - Trick Daddy Go Hard - DJ Khaled I'm Me - Lil' Wayne We Ready - Archie We Made It - Busta Rhymes Second Comming - Juelez Santana Eye Of The Tiger - Survivor Heart Of A Champion - Nelly

He attended Junior High School in Floral Park, New York, where he met his future wife Aisha Murray and they graduated in 1991. They attended Martin Van Buren High School together but he did not graduate. When Atkins was five years old, his sister died from respiratory problems. Growing up in a strict religious home, Atkin's family did not celebrate birthdays and Christmas, and as a child, was not allowed to listen to rap music. When he first heard it, he decided to be a rapper. He would sneak the music into his house and played it on his CD player when his mother wasn't around. Atkins is married to his high school sweetheart, Aisha Atkins née Murray. They have three children: Brittney (11), Jeffrey Junior (6) and Jordan (3).He and his family live in a mansion in New Jersey. Rise to Fame At age 15, Atkins appeared with 0-1 and Chris Black as part of Cash Money Click. This would lead to him being signed by TVT Records. He would end up being heard by a young DJ who called himself DJ Irv, then later Irv Gotti. Gotti, was a friend of Jay-Z's and he was also a DJ for Def Jam Recordings. During the mid 90s his main priority was meeting Ja Rule. He wanted to sign Ja to his new label Murder Inc. Records. He wanted Ja because of his distinct deep voice. After Irv was able to sign Ja along with DMX and Jay-Z to Def Jam. He beagn to have an idea that they all work together. They formed a group named The Murderers. They recorded many songs together. Friction tore the group apart, DMX, a rapper that sounds very similar to Ja accused him of trying to steal his style with the deep voice, by saying that before the three were signed Ja tried to make his voice sound lighter but heard him embrace the deep voice and tried to imitate it. They had planned to release an album together, but this idea was scrapped and they all made appearances on their respective albums. Still, around this time, Ja Rule was still fairly unknown. Jay-Z, at the time a young star and new to Def Jam, was the most popular rapper in hip hop. Russell Simmons had the idea that in order to build hype around Ja Rule and capitalize on Jay's popularity that Ja Rule do a verse on Jay-Z's 1998 single Can I Get A..., which also featured Amil. Ja's performance of the verse made him a household name and he became an instant star and by the release of his album a year later he was one of Def Jam Recordings premier acts. Venni Vetti Vecci (1999) In 1999, Ja Rule released his debut album Venni Vetti Vecci on Murder Inc./Def Jam. The album featured summer smash "Holla Holla". That single would propel the album to a platinum certification. His album featured appearances from Jay-Z, DMX, Memphis Bleek, and Ronald Isley. In 2000, Atkins was also featured on Irv Gotti's successful album, Irv Gotti Presents: The Murderers, which featured other Murder Inc. record label artists as well as DMX, Jay-Z and Busta Rhymes. Rule 3:36 (2000) In 2000 Atkins released Rule 3:36, his second album. The first released single was "Between Me & You" featuring Christina Milian, which proved to be a hit and was followed by another successful single, "Put It On Me" featuring Lil' Mo and Vita. The album received an unexpected level of support, and went on to go triple platinum. By this time Ja Rule was even more popular than Jay-Z and made an appearance on LL Cool J's G.O.A.T. album. Pain Is Love (2001) On October 2, 2001, Atkins released his third album, Pain Is Love. The first single, "Livin' It Up", was another hit. It featured guest vocals by R&B singer Case and sampled Stevie Wonder's "Do I Do". The follow up single, "Always On Time", was released in December of the same year and was yet another success. The song introduced the public to singer Ashanti, who performed the chorus. The album also featured the successful remix "I'm Real" with Jennifer Lopez. Finally, the album included the song "So Much Pain", a tribute to Tupac Shakur, and also went on to become triple platinum. Due to the additon of Ashanti, Lil Mo ended her relationship with Murder In

rare presskit/bio from sire records in promotion of his album "standing in the spotlight": The street level is the same. So are the cutting edge lyrics, the razor sharp humor and the intensity and integrity that grab you from the first cut. Even the face on the cover is familiar. But that's about as far as the comparisons stretch. In fact, any similarity between Dee Dee King, one of rap's most innovative new arrivals, and his creator, Dee Dee Ramone, exist only in the ear of the beholder. As one of the founding members of, and bassist for, The Ramones -- one of modern rock's most influential groups -- Dee Dee Ramone has taken a startling and sensational step in a new musical direction with his rapping alter ego, Dee Dee King. The proof is on dazzling display on Standing In The Spotlight, Dee Dee King's debut album on Sire Records. One of the most upfront, exciting, and explosively entertaining entries so far this year, Standing In The Spotlight features nine Dee Dee (make that King) rap originals, plus a hip-hop version of "Mashed Potatoe" that blows other recent dance craze remakes right off the floor. In some ways, Dee Dee King is the next logical step for the man behind the words of "Gimme Gimme Shock Treatment," "Sheena Is A Punk Rocker," "Lobotomy" (sic) and "Rockaway Beach." In other words, it's as completely unexpected as Dr. Jeckyl's transformation into Mr. Hyde. This particular transformation began about three years ago, when Dee Dee (make that Ramone) first picked up on the burgeoning rap world. "I fell in love with the stuff," he enthuses. "It was happening on the street, which is right where my music has always been. The words just knocked me out, maybe because I've always considered myself first and foremost a lyricist. In fact, I'd been exploring ways to expand the whole verse-chorus-verse structure, to take it a step further and make it more like a short story." After some intensive study of the best and brightest rappers on the New York City circuit, Dee Dee was ready to make his move. "I'm not black and not interested in pretending I am," he asserts. "My roots are in rock and roll and that is the direction I took my raps." What began to take shape is a sound Dee Dee called "Rap In' Roll," a mixture of Ramones energy and King-style rhymes that taked out a whole new musical turf. "The sound had to be there," he continues, "but in rap, the image can be just as important. I went out and bought the sweatsuits and Adidas sneakers, but it didn't feel right. So I mixed my own style with what the other rappers were wearing. I spent a lot of time getting just the right jewelry -- the best I could find -- and mixed it with my traditional Converse hi-top sneakers." The end result resembles a modern day hip-hop James Dean look, with which Dee Dee feels very comfortable. Taking the name Dee Dee King, his next step was to try out his rapology on the public. An early single, "Funky Man," garnered favorable response and invited comparisons to such inventive rappers as Rappin' Rodney and Jazzy Jeff. "A lot of people including Schooly D. wanted to work with me after that and believe me, I was tempted. But I knew I was going in my own direction and I wanted to stay on track." With producer Daniel Rey behind the boards, and such special guests as Debbie Harry and former Blondie guitarist Chris Stein, Dee Dee King started work on an album of his own. The result is "Standing In The Spotlight" and if it's safe to say The Ramones changed rock forever, you can be sure Dee Dee King will do the same for rap. "As my alter ego, King is able to do a lot of things I've always wanted," explains Dee Dee. "On 'The Crusher,' he becomes a professional wrestler. In 'Commotion In The Ocean,' he goes to California and becomes a surfer, and in 'German Kid,' he actually raps in German. But I think what was the most exciting to me was the chance to be really romantic on rap ballads like 'Baby Doll.' I think people have always seen me as a very hard-edged guy. Actually, love is the most interesting thing I can think of to write and sing about. Maybe some Ramones fans will be shocked at the sentiments coming out of Dee Dee King's mouth, but that's just another part of who I am and how I feel." The pieces are all in place for Dee Dee King's "Standing In The Spotlight" to emerge as a sizzling solo debut. The immediate future holds plans for a video or two off of the LP and a possible tour, but one thing is certain: Dee Dee King is set to make the same kind of impact on rap that Dee Dee Ramone has made on rock.
