diss song by Tupac Shakur, featuring his rap group the Outlawz. It is the B-Side to the 1996 single "How Do U Want It".The song viciously insults several East Coast rappers, chiefly Tupac Shakur's enemy and former friend, The Notorious B.I.G.. "Hit 'Em Up" was produced by long-time collaborator Johnny J and samples "Don't Look Any Further" by Dennis Edwards. The first verse is performed by 2Pac, the second by Hussein Fatal, the third by 2Pac, The fourth by Yaki Kadafi & the fifth by E.D.I. Mean The phrase "take money", which is repeated throughout the song, is a satirical play on Junior M.A.F.I.A.'s then recent hit, "Get Money". Additionally, the "Don't Look Any Further" sample was also used in "Gettin' Money"; a remix of "Get Money". The chorus of "Hit 'Em Up" is a play on the chorus of Junior M.A.F.I.A's "Player's Anthem", which is itself an interpolation of the melody from Yellowman's "Zunguzung".[1] Mobb Deep and Chino XL were also targeted. Jay-Z was originally insulted in the song's lengthy outro - right before Shakur says: "Fuck you, die slow muthafucka, my fo-fo make sure all y'all kids don't grow!" - but Hussein Fatal of the Outlawz convinced Shakur that the Brooklyn rapper had been neutral and the insult was erased, leaving several seconds of silence in its absence in certain remade versions of the song. Total List of Targets * Mobb Deep, who Shakur claims stuck their noses in. * Biggie Smalls * Puff Daddy * Chino XL * Bad Boy, word for word, Tupac says "Fuck Bad Boy; as a staff, record label and as a mother fucking crew" * Lil Kim * Junior M.A.F.I.A. * Lil Cease Background to song A brutal diatribe, in "Hit 'Em Up" Shakur's venom was aimed at two other hip hop artists, primarily The Notorious B.I.G. and Sean "Puffy" Combs, who he believed had advance knowledge that he would be robbed and shot in a November 30, 1994 incident in New York City, but didn't warn him (and possibly played a role in the incident). By extension, Shakur also took aim at Combs' Bad Boy Records and B.I.G.'s associates Lil' Kim and Junior M.A.F.I.A..

Songlyrics zu Friend or Enemy: This is where it starts, so you all would better get ready/ For this mothafucking rap part, it's getting hard and heavy/ Just listen to music, which is totally surrounding you/ No-one believed I can do it, but now they're proud of me dude/ They didn't respect me only some couple of weeks ago/ But now I'm in the position to fight back with a disrespecting flow/ And you don't really want to know, what happened in my past/ Cuz things went up and down, and shit came up to fast/ They made my life to hell, it began when I came to school/ They already waited for me 20 meters in front of my classroom/ And they dissed me, I was the fool, had no chance to defence/ Had no really good friends/ the violence there was immense/ But the most horrible thing was the fact, that they broke my hands/ And laughed about me, I thought my life didn't make sense/ Despite of it, I didn't give up, I was strong to continue/ Just make your way, and trust on that power, which is in you/ And when you don't know exactly, who is your friend or enemy/ Just don't make the same mistake than president John F. Kennedy/ And give 'em a platform to attack you, change your identity/ Otherwise you'll die, you see how dangerous this crap can be/ And when you don't know exactly, who is your friend or enemy/ Just don't make the same mistake than president John F. Kennedy/ And give 'em a platform to attack you, change your identity/ Otherwise you'll die, you see how dangerous this crap can be/ Love? Earlier it was only a word for me/ And that was the reason why my parents threw only dirt at me/ They never asked me, how I did in school or how was the day/ That's why we sat at home for dinner and had nothing to say/ Sometimes I prayed to god, to find out which is wrong with my family/ But he didn't know it either, that's why no answer came back to me/ I thought this can't be real, it must be a fantasy/ But when I remember correctly, there's nothing positive in my memory/ And that was the fucking point, as I screwed 'em and entered the/ unpredictable streets of rap to use words as a weaponry/ They always punched me in my stomach and I vomited all the time/ And nobody stopped this crime, I was only shocked and cried/ I was so down, that thought of committing suicide/ Because I didn't know an other way anymore to do it right/ It seemed like every person I knew went to the other side/ And left me alone in this cold room and it was so tight/ But anytime I had this great idea to begin to rhyme/ So you bitches can now walk in to hell and to pimp my ride/ And when you don't know exactly, who is your friend or enemy/ Just don't make the same mistake than president John F. Kennedy/ And give 'em a platform to attack you, change your identity/ Otherwise you'll die, you see how dangerous this crap can be/ And when you don't know exactly, who is your friend or enemy/ Just don't make the same mistake than president John F. Kennedy/ And give 'em a platform to attack you, change your identity/ Otherwise you'll die, you see how dangerous this crap can be/ And that's what I've ever said, Not everybody had such a great childhood and such a good dad/ Don't forget this.../

Bill's love for rap music turns to outrage when he hears the lyrics for the first time. Meanwhile Lisa has to deal with Catherine and Beth's jealousy when she is selected as New York's Cutest Radio Reporter. Chuck D, from the most well known Rap group of all-time Public Enemy, makes a appearance to debate Bill about the lyrics in Rap music. Bill (reading lyrics): "I don't want none unless you got buns, hon!" Dave: Understandably, Bill, I'm a little hurt, but if that's how you feel . . . Bill reads lyrics from the Sir Mix-A-Lot's song "Baby Got Back" which describes the rapper's admiration for women who have a curvaceous posterior.

Copyright. Island. (1987) Anthrax is a New York City-based heavy metal band that released its first full-length album in 1984. The band was one of the most popular of the 1980s thrash metal scene and is notable for being the first to combine heavy metal with rap music. The band has sold over 10 million albums worldwide, and is classified as one of the "big four" of thrash metal alongside Metallica, Megadeth, and Slayer. Anthrax has made several appearances on television, including the programs Married... with Children, WWE Raw, NewsRadio, Cheers, and Ask Dr. Ruth among others. The band has also appeared in films such as Run Ronnie Run (performing as the fictional band Titannica) and Calendar Girls. Their song "Madhouse" was used in the video game Grand Theft Auto: Vice City in-game radio station V-Rock and in Guitar Hero II. The song "Now It's Dark" was also converted into simlish on the metal radio station for The Sims PC game. Their song "Caught in a Mosh" was featured in Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80s. In 2006, guitarist Scott Ian was a cast member of VH1's reality show SuperGroup and is also featured on many other VH1 shows such as I Love the 80s and I Love the 90s. In 1985 the band released their second studio album Spreading the Disease which had their hit "Madhouse"; and in 1987, Anthrax released their third album, Among the Living. This album began a lyrical trend that focused on movies, comic books and Stephen King novels. All these elements would for years become typical lyrical themes Anthrax fans would come to expect. "I Am the Law" is a tribute to comic book hero Judge Dredd. "Efilnikufesin (N.F.L.)" (which, when spelled backwards, reads "nise fukin life") is about comedian John Belushi's drug addiction and death. "Indians" and the mosh pit anthem "Caught in a Mosh" are both considered Anthrax classics today. The album was dedicated to the memory of Cliff Burton. The band continued its success, sticking to the thrash metal genre of Among the Living on the album State of Euphoria. The single "Antisocial," originally by French heavy metal band Trust was a staple on MTV in regular rotation as well as on Headbangers Ball. Anthrax was always a band prone to experimentation; in 1987, they appeared on the title track of rap group U.T.F.O.'s album Lethal. In 1991, they collaborated with pioneering rap artists Public Enemy on a joint version of PE's "Bring the Noise", although Anthrax already did a fusion of rap and heavy metal in the form of "I'm the Man" in 1987, a comedic song originally slated to be played with the Beastie Boys (although they did not actually get to play this song with Anthrax until a 1991 remake). "Bring the Noise" was a hit, and the band had a successful joint tour with Public Enemy. About Judge Joe Dredd is a comics character whose strip in the British science fiction anthology 2000 AD is the magazine's longest running (having been featured there since its second issue in 1977). Dredd is a law enforcement officer in a violent city of the future where uniformed Judges combine the powers of police, judge, jury and executioner. Dredd and his fellow Judges are empowered to arrest, sentence and even execute criminals on the spot. He was created by writer John Wagner and artist Carlos Ezquerra, although editor Pat Mills also deserves some credit for his early development. Judge Dredd is amongst Britain's best known home-grown comic book characters. So great is the character's reputation that his name is sometimes invoked over similar issues to those explored by the comic series, such as the police state, authoritarianism and the rule of law.

One of the best socially conscious rap songs of the old school hip-hop. Groups like Public Enemy and KRS One emerged later in the '80s with rap songs that usually had a political message of some kind. Chuck D of Public Enemy even called rap "The black CNN" for its ability to reach a young black audience. The socially conscious style gave way to rappers in the '90s who seemed more concerned about their cars, jewelry and women. The track is based on an obscure dance song called "Cavern" by the group Liquid Liquid. The song "Cavern" was influenced by the many different sources, funk, dub reggae of the 1970s. This track has been sampled and completely remastered by Joseph "Biggie Grand" Saddler and Sugarhill House Band. Sugarhill House Band bassist Doug Wimbish rearanged and played instantly recognizable bassline. Joseph "Biggie Grand" Saddler and Melvin "Melle Mel" Glover broke up before "White Lines" was released. Joseph Saddler, who was the DJ, went to court with Melvin Glover, who was the rapper, over rights to the name "Grandmaster." The video was directed by then unknown film student Spike Lee as a part of the college project & starred then unknown actor Laurence Fishburne. Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five Ft. Melle Mel - White Lines (Don't Don't Do It) Ooh White Lines, Vision dreams of passion Blowin' through my mind) and all the while I think of you High price, a very strange reaction For us to unwind, the more I see, the more I do Something like a phenomenon, Baby! Tellin your body to come along, but white lines blow away Blow! Rock it! Blow! Ticket to ride, white line highway Tell all your friends, they can go my way Pay your toll, sell your soul Pound for pound costs more than gold The longer you stay, the more you pay My white lines go a long way Either up your nose or through your vein With nothin to gain except killin' your brain Higher, baby Get higher, baby! Get higher, baby! And don't ever come down! Freebase! Pipeline pure as the driven snow Connected to my mind) and now I'm havin' fun, baby! High price it's getting kinda low Cause it makes you feel so nice I need some one-on-one, baby! Don't let it blow your mind away Baby! And go into your little hideaway 'cause white lines blow away Blow! A million magic crystals, painted pure and white A multi-million dollars almost overnight Twice as sweet as sugar, twice as bitter as salt And if you get hooked, baby, it's nobody else's fault, so don't do it! Higher, baby Get higher, baby! Get higher, baby! And don't ever come down! Freebase! Don't you get too high, don't you get too high baby! Turns you on, you really turn me on and on When you gonna come down, my temperature is risin' When the thrill is gone, no, I don't want you to go A street kid gets arrested, gonna do some time He got out three years from now just to commit more crime A businessman is caught with 24 kilos He's out on bail and out of jail And that's the way it goes Raah! Athletes rejected, governors corrected Gangsters, thugs and smugglers are thoroughly respected The money gets divided The women get excited Now I'm broke and it's no joke It's hard as hell to fight it, don't buy it! Get higher, baby Get higher, girl! Get higher, baby! C'mon!... Little Jack Horner sitting on the corner With no shoes and clothes This aint funny, but he took his money And sniffed it up his nose Hey man, you wanna cop some blow? Sure, what you got, dust, flakes or rocks? I got China White, Mother of Pearl, Ivory Flake, What you need?
